Privacy

Democratic Wins Media has no accounts, no comments and no store, and we don’t sell your information. The only things we collect are an email address if you subscribe to the newsletter, and the ordinary technical records any website keeps. The ads on our pages come from Google, which has its own rules, described below.

The newsletter is sent by Substack. When you subscribe, your email address goes to Substack, and we can see our subscriber list there. Substack’s privacy policy covers what it does with your address. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Our pages show ads from Google through its AdSense program. Google, and other advertising companies that work with it, use cookies and similar technology to show ads based on what you have looked at on this site and on other websites.

Where the law requires it, Google shows a message asking for your choice before it uses these cookies for advertising. You can also opt out of personalized advertising at any time:

• Google Ads Settings turns off personalized ads from Google.
• aboutads.info lets you opt out of personalized ads from many other advertising companies.

How Google uses information from sites like ours is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We do not choose who sees which ad, and we do not see who clicked.

The Election HQ shows how many people are watching right now. To count them, your browser makes up a random code, keeps it in its own storage, and sends it to us every 40 seconds while the page is open. The code is held in memory for about a minute and then forgotten. It is not linked to your name or email.

Live TV on the Election HQ uses video from YouTube. The video loads only after you press play, through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode.

The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles each visit, including your IP address and browser details, to deliver the pages and to keep the site safe from abuse. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Our text is set in a font loaded from Google Fonts, so Google also receives your IP address when a page loads.
